Dr. Kennedy is a board-certified sports and emergency medicine physician with expertise in treating a wide range of athletic injuries. With over twenty years of clinical experience, Dr. Kennedy provides a unique approach to sports medicine. Along with encouraging overall sports wellness, Dr. Kennedy strives to create awareness of sports-related injuries, and carries a passion for changing the often-violent culture of contact sports.
A certified Medical Review Officer (MRO), Dr. Kennedy is certified to perform drug screening for municipalities and sports teams and works as the Police Surgeon for the Suffolk County New York Sheriff’s Office. When Dr. Kennedy is not working, he can be found either working out in the gym or on the athletic field. More recently, Dr. Kennedy was named the medical advisor for the Long Island Lizards of the Men’s Lacrosse League.
Dr. Kennedy has extensive experience in communication with news media on sports injuries and has published numerous medical articles in peer-reviewed journals. He also regularly writes about Sports Medicine-related issues for community awareness on his professional Facebook page. Dr. Kennedy works to promote awareness and prevention of injuries in the athletic community.
